Waste of money&time

The app is wonderful, however Ingame chat and diceroll that can be seen by all players would be needed improvement

The image and token library Is very small.

...background, objects and tokens library is really too small. There are not some very important objects like stairs, secret doors, statues, and a lot of more... Edit 2012-05-23: ok, now there are stairs and some few new objects and backgrounds, thanks. Now, is it possible to have some special tiles to make circular rooms? And secret doors? More objects, please, altars, fountains, statues....

Crashes on startup on iPad mini. Disappointing.

On startup!!! It doesnt load old maps from 1.0 & crash... Ive a full campaign running on BM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad upgrade.

ALWAYS...No comment...reinstall the app does not fix anything.

I do not like to be blasted out of my chair by unexpected music.

This is hands down the best RPG map tool on iOS. Sure you have to shell out a little bit, but its worth it. Easy to use and nice visuals. The only thing Id like to see if bigger maps sizes and more versatility in the objects and tiles. Id even buy more addons but I think the company is done supporting it. Shame...

There is a strange lack of snapping grid drawing tools in the App Store, and while this one is pricey, it was worth it for me. I will say it needs some tuning as it chugged down over half my iPad Pro battery in a single evening of 3.5 hours of play, so must have something scanning for input. A wider brush option would be good too. Still, this tool was almost exactly what I needed to be able to get off of the grid paper notebooks.

I created my own spin-off version of DnD to play with a group of friends.. the game turned out well, but everyone complained about the lack of visuals. I found this app, and was thrilled by the idea I could create the map, and host it on my TV. Talk about epic visuals! To my dismay, I have discovered one small flaw in this app, which renders it useless for my game. Our game is a "room by room" grid system. EVERYTHING is perfect on this app for it, except the visibility. Theres no way to make each grid work as a room, while concealing the surrounding grid tiles. I tried using all kinds of objects, block LoS, but to no avail. I even tried removing range of light source, but that just makes the character disappear entirely. If its set at the minimum (1) then it reveals all 9 tiles around you. Hopeful suggestions: Allow a more friendly tile-to-tile approach. Allow LoS to be more concisely controlled. If anyone knows a way to get around my issue, I would love to hear it and would instantly give this app 5 stars, and would have everyone in my group purchase it!!

Projecting through the Apple TV is the perfect setup! Players love it ...new maps can be created in minutes! Limited tiles but a lot a variation is possible with a little creativity. Held off on the purchase for awhile, but went ahead when I heard #2 will be a free update...should have bought it months ago. Cant wait for the next version.

I love this app - its saving me a lot of time while letting me have high-quality maps for my games. Great! I do have one issue, though. Im using this to run prepublished modules. I pull any battlemaps from the PDFs of the adventures, resize and reposition them on my desktop, and then set them as a background image on this app. It would be a lot better if I could repositon the image in-app in addition to resizing it; as is, the image is always centered, which means the grid on the background image can be difficult to line up with the apps grid. As a result, I have to jump through a lot of hoops on my desktop to size the image appropriately for the app.

This needs to be cheaper considering what you get. I also wish I could have tried it before buying it. I would not have bought it if I had tried it. Its not worth the money and I wish I could get it back. There arent that many icons to use and you cant create back to back rooms like you see in modules. The best you can do is layout rooms that WILL have a battle in it and not worry about the rest of the rooms. Since I cant get my money back itll sit on my iPhone /iPad "gathering dust".

The naming of the characters is lost because of the lack of time taken in the sensitivity of how you can name the characters also this makes game play suffer badly how ever it is still an amazing app however I ask they work on the naming problem

Dont be fooled by the (probably fake) good reviews here: this is a unprofessional, bad product. I bought it hoping to recreate my miniatures games on it, but it has mostly sat unused on my iPad thanks to unresponsive controls and limited mapping abilities. Map size cant be adjusted. Importing custom maps is nearly impossible because it crops images that dont fit its predetermined grid. Moving characters is a pain, because the program cant tell if you are wanting to move them or edit them. The map backgrounds that come with the editor are ugly. The list of issues goes on. Bottom line: dont buy this product.

Its a good app with a few things missing before it becomes great (resizing grids in particular). Ive read/seen some of the changes theyre making to version 2. It is a bit expensive compared to other apps in general. I think a $10-$15 dollar price reduction would do them wonders more than they realize, especially if they just gave bonus content to people who bought it at the higher price. Its still a good app and I recommend it!

Took some time for the upgrade to 2.0, but it looks so far like its been worth the wait. Kudos to the devs for being so responsive to everyones feature requests!

This app is incredible! I initially reported a bug which prevented users from restoring and utilizing in-app purchases. Razeware fixed the bug in less than 1hr so I can honestly say the support seems much improved from battle map 1. The apps functionality is unparalleled and redefines what it means to be a DM. Over the years as an avid Apple product user I have made many purchases for which I was not proud of and often felt cheated. This is not one of them! This is the best app in its class and should be a real treat to those of you DMs out there getting really tired of pen and paper dungeon maps. Thanks again Razeware!

This is an amazing app. I use in in may store Pathfinder Society and several other RPG events. I use with Apple TV and it works great. This app is worth every penny of the price. If you GM any RPG you wont regret getting this.
